Summer opportunities for those in RCIA ministry

The New England Convocation for Catechetical Leadership is hosting a convocation August 4, 5, 6 & 7, 2011. The Pre-Convocation which is held at the Springfield Marriott will offer two workshops on the RCIA. If you are new to the RCIA you may want to attend, The RCIA: An Introduction offered by Rev. Stanley Szczapa. Discernment, sources of catechesis, the importance of the ritual and mystagogy are among the topics that will be addressed in interactive sessions.

RCIA Adapted for Children will be presented by Diana Dudoit Raiche. This presentation focuses on how to address the spiritual and sacramental needs of children and their families through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults adapted for children in a number of settings: parish catechetical program; catechumenate with children nad Catholic schools.
